The NDC in Tema East Constituency is calling on the NPP flagbearer Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to as a matter of principle, call his National Chairman Mr. Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey to order in order to save his integrity.
The one time appointee in the Kufuor administration has been heavily criticized by the ruling NDC functionaries over his purchase of the government bungalow he occupied while serving as a Minister.
According to the the Joe Cornelius branch of the NDC in Tema East, Nana Akuffo-Addo himself is on record to have personally rejected one of such offers allegedly made to him, while his party was in government.
The Joe Cornelius branch of the NDC in Tema East said in a release that, the behavior by the NPP Chairman “has dented the image of the party when it comes to the long held perception of official looting and grabbing of state properties”.
The statement said “we believe the New Patriotic Party (NPP) can take a cue from the humility and selflessness of the NDC government and its officials upon assumption of office in order to restore some level of respect and dignity to our body politics and public officials”.
The statement however called for the establishment of a comprehensive policy as a nation to curtail this trend.
