The flag bearer of the Conventions People’s Party (CPP), Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, has said, it was time Ghanaians voted the CPP into power.
That, he said was because the other parties which ruled the country for the past 16 years had failed the nation.
He said politics was about the “masses and the masses are the women”.
According to him the CPP had taken issues of market women seriously and would do everything possible to improve upon their conditions when the CPP comes into power.
Dr. Nduom was speaking at the Kotokuraba and Abura Markets in Cape Coast, as part of his nationwide tour.
The CPP flag bearer who was accompanied by his wife and some party executives was given a rousing welcome at both markets as the women danced and sang to brass band music.
He said his party would eradicate poverty by providing flexible loan facilities to market women.
A fund will also be set up to support their needs, he said, adding that that, would help to boost their trade, create more jobs and also improve the economy of the nation.
He urged the market women and the public to vote for the CPP in the December elections because it was the only party with “new ideas and fresh blood to propel the country forward”.
The market women appealed to Dr. Nduom to help provide electricity for the office of the Federation of Market Association (FMA), which is located in the market, since they have tried on countless occasions to get power for the office without success.
