The Super Falcons of Nigeria Cemented their position as the most successful women’s football team in Africa when they beat Equatorial Guinea 4-2 in the finals of the African Women’s Championship in South Africa.
Equatorial Guinea had hope to retain the title they won two years ago when they hosted it but Nigeria was too strong for them.
The Super Falcons have now won the Competition six times out of seven.
Perpetual Nkwocha won the golden show award with eleven goals in six games and said the aim is to impress at next year’s World Cup in Germany.
She said the team was determined to excel on the world stage.
Nigeria’s Stella Mbachu was voted the overall best player of the tournament.
Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea have both qualified and will represent Africa for next year’s World Cup to be hosted by Germany.
