Two Nigerians have been put before an Accra Regional Tribunal for dealing in narcotic drugs.
The three-member tribunal chaired by Justice Frank Manu did not take the plea of Patrick Etumnu and Nwakaeze Chukuemeka and remanded them until February 27.
The facts of the case as narrated by the prosecution were that at about
2030 hours of January 30 this year, Etumnu arrived at the Kotoka International Airport to board a British Airways Flight to London.
The prosecution stated that security personnel on duty conducted a search in his suitcase and found a large quantity of powdery substance suspected to be cocaine. The prosecution said Etumnu mentioned Chukuemeka as the one who gave him the substance to be transported to London for a fee of 2,000 pounds.
He later led police to arrest Chukuemeka at the Blue Royal Hotel at Osu. Chukuemeka also told the police that the substance was given to him by one Ifeanyi in Nigeria to be delivered to Etumnu in Ghana.
The substance has since been forwarded to the Ghana Standards Board for examination.Source: GNA
