The Volta Regional caucus in Parliament is demanding swift investigations into the murder of the DCE for Nkwanta south, Peter Kojo Kenyenso.
Their demand is simple; find the killers and prosecute them.
Chairman of the Caucus, Joseph Amenowode warned any delay in dealing with this matter, could lead to tension and victimization of innocent people in the area.
He said the existing political and ethnic tension in the area demand that the police act with urgency.
Police have been interrogating eight people, arrested on suspicion of complicity in the murder of the DCE.
Mr. Amenewode told parliamentary correspondent, Elton John Brobbey the development also raises questions about the security of government appointees.
He expressed utter shock by the incident saying people cannot express their differences this way.
Mr. Amenewode said the murder is a testimony of the fears of MPs who have time without number demanded for the security of MPs.
Meanwhile, Municipal and District Chief Executives in the region have also added their voices to the calls for the arrest of those behind the murder of the DCE.
DCE for Agortime-Ziope, Michael Adzaho who addressed a news conference, said the murder came as a shock to them all.
"While we mourn his death we wish to condemn this cowardly act that is creating a sense of insecurity in the area," he stated.
"It is our wish that security men leave no stone unturned in the attempt to arresting the culprits."
He also appealed to the president to consider providing MMDCEs with security.
Meanwhile the police is asking the residents to assist with information so they will be able to arrest the perpetrators of the crime.
