Information reaching Myjoyonline.com indicates that a former Managing Director of the Graphic Communications Group Limited, Mr Berifi Appenteng has been appointed the Director-General of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC).
Mr Appenteng will take over from Mr. Kwabena Sarpong Anane who has been acting as Director-General of GBC since the substantive D-G, Mr William Ampem-Darko was removed from office following persistent public disagreement between him and the then Board Chairman, Prof. John Ahetor.
Mr Appenteng retired from the Graphic Communications Group in 2007 after serving his six-year term as MD.
He went into private corporate communications and consultancy.
Before coming to Graphic as MD, Mr Appenteng was the General Manager at TV3, having left GBC as Director of GTV.
The National Media Commission also appointed a former Chief Operating Officer of Multi TV, Mr Kenneth Ashigbey as the Managing Director of the Graphic Communications Group.
He takes over from Mr Ibrahim Awal who resigned as MD to pursue his private business.
