UEFA has announced the nominees for Ballon d'Or 2024.
The awards ceremony will take place on Monday, October 28, 2024, in Paris.
Barcelona and Spain's youngster, Lamine Yamal who only turned 17 on the eve of Euro 2024 final in July is contention for the award.
He joins the likes of Vinícius Júnior, Jude Bellingham, Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappe, and 24 others for gunning for the award.
For first time since 2003, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have not been nominated.
Messi, an eight-time Ballon d'Or winner who claimed the prize in 2023, does not make the list this time.
Five-time winner of this gong, Ronaldo, 39, has also been left out.
Karim Benzema and Luka Modric - the only other previous recipients still playing - were also left off the shortlist, a first-time winner is guaranteed.
The award is voted for by a jury of journalists from each of the top 100 countries in the Fifa men's world ranking.
Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola was put forward for men's coach of the year after another Premier League title success with Manchester City.
The 2024 awards will include the following:

• The Women's Club of the Year Trophy

• The Gerd Müller Trophy (top scorer of the previous season)
Men's Coach of the Year and Women's Coach of the Year are new trophies that have been added to the list of prizes this year, recognising the invaluable contribution of coaches to success on the pitch.
