The President of the North East Regional House of Chiefs, Ndugna Nayiri Naa Bohugu Abdulai Sheriga has commended the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, for his decency in the ongoing campaign for the 2024 elections.
During an interactive meeting between Dr Bawumia and the North East Regional House of Chiefs in Nalerigu on May 13, the President, also the Overlord of Mamprugu, conveyed in a speech delivered on his behalf that Dr Bawumia has performed commendably and should maintain that stance throughout the campaign.
"I have observed so far the civility and the admirable with which you conduct your campaign," said the Nayiri.
"I will urge you to continue in same manner."
The Nayiri also commended Dr Bawumia for his remarkable work as Vice President and assured him of the region's support in his bid to become the President of Ghana.
"As we prepare for election this year, the least we can do for you, as the son of the soil is to honour you with the opportunity to serve at the highest echelon of state power."
"We shall not turn our back on you, especially having demonstrated competence, loyalty, resilience and more importantly regard for the institution of Chieftaincy."
"I am deeply persuaded that you have it in you to carry out the task ahead. You can rise to the challenge and uphold the good name of Ghana and make her greater and stronger," he said.
