The Western Regional branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has introduced its aspiring parliamentary candidates for constituencies without sitting NPP Members of Parliament to the media at Takoradi on Tuesday.
The aspirants for the constituencies otherwise called 'orphan" constituencies included; Mrs. Agnes Sonful, Amenfi Central, Eric T. Tandoh, Suaman and Anthony M. Arpoh, Bia.
The rest were Padmore. K. Y. Arthur, Amenfi Central constituency, Martin Y. Ackah, Jomoro constituency and Christian Efiba. Dadieso Constituency.
Nana Owusu Ankomah, the Western Regional Chairman of the NPP said the party will continue to improve upon the welfare of Ghanaians and to assist them to develop their potentials irrespective of their party affiliations.
He said as part of the anniversary celebrations, the NPP would organise a health walk on September 18 and a rally at the Jubilee Grounds at Takoradi and a thanksgiving service to climax activities on September 29.
Nana Ankomah said the NPP would pray for God's guidance for the party delegates to enable them to elect a viable presidential candidate at its forthcoming delegates' conference to contest the 2008 General Elections.
The party presented a laptop computer and a printer valued at 2,000 Ghana cedis to the Western Regional branch of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA).
Receiving the equipment, Mr. George A. Naykene, the Regional Chairman of GJA, thanked the NPP for the donation.
He said the NPP was the only party that had responded to appeals by the branch association for assistance to enable it establish a regional press centre.
My Naykene appealed to philanthropists and organisations to assist the GJA to fulfill its dream.
