The New Patriotic Part (NPP) on Thursday called on organisations and individuals involved in the misuse of its name and colours for purposes that have not received the party's approval to stop forthwith.
A statement signed by the General Secretary of the party, Nana Ohene Ntow, said, “the attention of the NPP has been drawn to a media project hitherto unknown to the NPP that utilizes its name and colours for purposes that have not received the party’s approval.”
It said, "Documents in the possession of NPP clearly state that, while the main objective of the plan is to, among others, use ‘the colours of the NPP with graphical and multimedia content’ and feature the pictures of all its presidential aspirants to generate revenue for its initiators, the Party would ‘have no official role’ to play in the project".
The statement said, the documents revealed that a number of media houses, including some television stations, eight radio stations, seven print media houses and outdoor services have been commissioned to participate in this illegal use of the corporate image
of the party.
The statement said almost seven years as the ruling party in Ghana, the NPP was proud that its trend-setting democratic governance, economic, political and social programmes have made Ghana a worldwide role model.
