Accra Great Olympics once again failed to grab the three maximum points when they hosted Zaytuna FC in the sixth week league match played at the El-Wak Sports Stadium, Accra on Sunday.
Determined to change their fortunes in the premiership, Olympics created several chances in the game but their attacking machinery made up of Emmanuel Clotttey, Tanko Mohammed and Paa Joe Kumah failed to glitter.
Zaytuna, even though were subjected to a lot of pressure from the “Dade” boys, also managed to break through the defence and created some decent chances but also failing to find the back of the net with Amoako Agyeman and Felix Baffoe as the worst culprits.
The scoreline thus leave Olympics at the bottom of the League table with two points in six matches.
Gamba All Blacks managed a hard fought victory over visiting Tema Youth when they pipped them 1-0 in their sixth week Onetouch Premier League match at the Swedru sports stadium on Sunday.
The home side whose performance since the beginning of the Leaguer has not been encouraging, got the only goal of the match in the 50th minute through Osumanu Sakora.
Tema Youth who dominated the game from the beginning could not find the net until proceedings of the first half was brought to an end.
Bernard Akuffo of Tema Youth who was slippery and difficult to handle by the defenders of All Blacks had only the goalie, Isaac Akrong to beat but he wasted the glorious opportunity to put his side on level terms.
The second half saw the All Blacks’ lads coming into the game strongly but they also failed to increase their goal tally.
The goal-getter Sakora ‘s back pass to Mohammed Bawa in the 59th minute nearly resorted in a goal but the goal bound ball was quickly intercepted by the defenders of Tema Youth.
In the 77th minute, Bawa who was in a good position to increase the scores shot feebly into the waiting hands of keeper Ernest Sowah of Tema Youth.
Both teams exhausted their substitutions before but still failed to score any goal until referee Ladmanford Vuvor brought the proceedings to an end.
