The Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi is expected to fill to capacity today as thousands of Ghanaians and others from across the globe join in a grand durbar to climax festivities marking the 10th anniversary of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s entoolment as Asantehene.
Otumfuo is expected to make a grand entry to the stadium at 1030am, and already a good number of dignitaries are in town to join in the festivities.
President J.E.A. Mills is expected to be part of the celebrations, which will also see former heads of state and governments; including former Prime Minister of Spain, Jose Maria Aznar, and former presidents Jerry John Rawlings of Ghana, Olusegun Obasanjo of Nigeria, Festus Gontebanye Mogae of Botswana and Ahmed Tejan Kabbah of Sierra Leones.
The former heads of states were part of an international symposium on Deepening Democracy in Africa, held at the Great Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
Several business leaders are also part of the celebrations.
