The Paramount Chief of Adonkwanta, Nana Obeng Akyeapomg has expressed his gratitude to President Akufo-Addo for redeeming his promise of creating the Oti region.
Nana Obeng Akyeapomg also commended the President for fulfilling the promise of establishing a factory under the 1D1F programme in the town.

The Paramount Chief said this at a ceremony to commission a frozen yam and cassava chips processing plant at Adonkwanta in Krachi East district of the Oti Region.
President Akufo-Addo commissioned the plant, CH Global Limited, which is a project under the 1-District-1-Factory (1D1F) programme.

Nana Obeng Akyeapomg, however, bemoaned the deplorable roads in the district and appealed to the President to work on the network connectivity issues in the area.
Residents of the area commended the government for its initiative in solving the unemployment issues among the people.
“We are happy the factory is ready to give employment to our youths and also put our town in the limelight. We also thank the President for fulfilling his promises,” a resident told JoyNews.

On his part, the Managing Director of CH Global Limited, Frank Ankamah said the initiative is private sector-led which would enable the government to create the necessary conducive environment for the businesses to access funding from financial institutions and other support services from government agencies to establish factories.
A total of 50 people are expected to be recruited, including Management, production workers, technicians and storekeepers at the initial stage of the commencement of the factory.

The 1D1F initiative is the vision of the President to change the nature of Ghana's economy from one which is dependent on import and export of raw materials, to one which is focused on manufacturing, value addition and export of processed goods.
These raw materials are largely found in the districts which would have otherwise gone waste.

The President is on a two-day tour of the Oti Region.
He is expected to meet the Paramount Chiefs of Ntsumuru, Krachi, Nkonya, Ahenfie, and other chiefs.
The President will also inspect the Oti Regional Coordinating Council Administration Block and continue to Nkwanta and also inspect the Jasikan Dodopapasi Road among others.
