Liberty Professionals edged out Medeama to the Round of 16 place in the MTN FA Cup on Wednesday after winning on penalties.
In a replay of their third round fixture last season where Medeama strolled to a 3-0 win, Liberty were the victors this time round but had to rely on the lottery of penalties to beat the Tarkwa side 3-1.
Both sides played out a 0-0 scoreline after regulation time as the tie headed into penalties where Medeama missed three crucial kicks while goalkeeper Daniel Adjei scored from the spot to hand Liberty victory.
