A police officer has been shot dead at the Radiance filling station on the Ho-Adaklu road in the Volta Region.
Joy News’ regional correspondent, Mawuli Yevu-Agbi reports that the police officer’s weapon was taken away by the robbers.
The officer was on duty alone at the time the incident occurred.

Spatter of blood covered with sand
Some drivers who spoke to Mawuli said they were at the station at about 10pm Monday to buy fuel when a police patrol team came to alert attendants at the station of some people they suspect to be robbers.
According to them, the police ordered attendants to close the station and go home – which they did.
Mawuli says the robbers did not steal anything neither did they destroy any property at the station.
Circumstances leading to the death of the officer are currently unknown
The police have refused to give the name of the officer but say they are investigating the matter.
