Polytechnic teachers say they are dissatisfied with the progress made so far in the efforts to address their concerns.
An Accra High court threw out a National Labour Commission’s case against the teachers to end their strike and asked for mediation to resolve the impasse.
The General Secretary of POTAG, Anthony Ayarkwa told Joy News he is hoping for a positive outcome by Friday when the mediation process ends.
He said POTAG and the government had inconclusive discussions on their conditions of service and since that time, polytechnic teachers have fallen behind their counterparts in what he called 'analogous institutions.'
Mr Ayarkwa said Fair Wages and Salaries Commission was still repeating the same argument that it didn’t want to negotiate individual unions – a position he posits is untenable.
