The 7th Annual Internal Audit Forum is scheduled to take place in Accra on the 23rd and 24th of this month, according to a News Release issued by the Internal Audit Agency (IAA) in Accra, Thursday.
The two-day Forum, which is being organised by the IAA under the distinguished patronage of His Excellency the President, John Dramani Mahama, is on the theme “Efficient Management of National Resources—The Role of Internal Auditing.
The Forum seeks to bring key stakeholders in public administration, including internal auditors, to discuss practical ways of improving performance, efficiency, accountability and transparency in the use of national resources.
Among topics to be discussed are: ‘Using Information and Communication Technology in managing national resources’ and ‘The strategic dimension of risk management in managing national resources’.
Presentations will be made by Dr Tony Aidoo, Head of Policy Monitoring & Evaluation, Office of the President, Mr Alhassan Andani, Managing Director of Stanbic Bank, Major Daniel Ablorh Quarcoo (Rtd.), Chairman, Public Interest Accountability Committee and Prof. Clement Dzidonu, President, Accra Institute of Technology.
In attendance will be Ministers of State, Members of Parliament, Chief Directors, Chief Executives, Human Resource Managers, Directors of Finance and Administration and Heads of Internal Audit, among others.
Pursuant to section 3 (2c) of the Internal Audit Agency Act, 2003 (Act 658), which requires the IAA to ensure that national resources are adequately safeguarded, the IAA has since 2006 provided the platform for creating awareness, sensitising, generating and provoking interest in critical national issues that generally affect the financial administration, performance and governance of public institutions in Ghana.
