The first round of the 2010 Glo Premier League enters its penultimate fixtures with cagey encounters at the various league centres this weekend.
Already dark horse, Berekum Chelsea are firmly on top having opened a six point lead and are poised to repeat the dose when inconsistent Liberty Professionals trek to the Golden City Park.
The Dansoman lads have been disappointing this season but seemed to have gotten their groove back with a slim victory against Hearts of Oak and a thumping 4-0 victory over BA Stars.
They would have to grind a result from a determined and compact Chelsea side.
At the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium, Accra Hearts of Oak hosts Berekum Arsenals in a match the Phobians are expected to win.
Paa Kwesi Fabian may have chalked a sweet victory against rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko but results since that victory have been anything but impressive. His future with Hearts is not certain and needs to fetch the maximum points to shore up management’s confidence in him.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko are up against Dwarfs in yet another tricky duel at the Robert Mensah stadium in Cape Coast.
The Porcupine Warriors have picked just a point from a maximum 18 and occupy an embarrassing fourth from bottom on the league’s log. With Dwarfs who are also struggling but lie two places ahead of Kotoko, the match will certainly be fit for the gods. A drawn game will not be a bad result.
Bashir Hayford’s Kessben FC will be looking forward to ending the strings of losses when they come up against Wa All Stars in Sekondi.
At Dormaa, defending league champions Aduana play Hearts of Lions in another interesting duel.
Ashantigold trek to Bekwai to face New Edubiase whilst King Faisal engage RTU at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
In what looks like a battle against relegation, BA Stars and Mighty Jets will square off at the Sunyani Coronation Park.
