The founder of the All People’s Congress (APC), Hassan Ayariga, has denied reports that he was assaulted by a man in his native Bawku in the Upper East Region.
Mr Ayariga told Myjonline.com that he always holds a party for the less endowed during the Eid celebrations and is surprised that was not reported.
"I share my wealth with the people of Bawku so there is no way anyone could attack and assault me when I am giving back to the society.
"I don't stay in Accra during Eid but I come done to Bawku to show gratitude to Allah by sharing what I have been blessed with," he said.
According to him, he shares clothing, food and drinks as well as assist people who have special needs and he never misses spending Eid with the residents of Bawku.
Reports were trending over the weekend that a fabric producer, Adams Awal, had allegedly attacked and assaulted Mr Ayariga at his home last Monday, a day to the Eid ul Adha celebrations.
But the former People's National Convention (PNC) flagbearer now APC founder said there is no substance to the story.
He expressed surprise when he was contacted by Myjoyonline.com saying there was no such incidence and has he reported any case seeking police assistance.
Mr Ayariga was, however, unhappy his Haatso property, in the capital city, was demolished by officials of the Ga East Municipal Assembly.
Below are pictures from the Eid al Adha party he organised in his house in Bawku.
