The body of the late President Mills was taken out of the 37 Military Hospital to his private residence at the Regimanuel Estates.
Roads were blocked along the route to allow the smooth transport of the remains of the late president.
The family of the late president performed some customary rituals there, after which the body was conveyed to the Osu Castle.
From there, the body was taken to the Banquet Hall at the State House for the filing past by dignitaries.
At the Banquet Hall at the State House President John Mahama was the first person to file past the body of the late leader, followed by his vice, Mr Kwesi Amissah-Arthur.
The Speaker of Parliament, the Chief Justice, MPs, judges, local and international dignitaries all filed past the body.
The general public were also allowed, without-invitation, to file past the body and pay their last respects.
No speeches or tributes were read.
