Works by the accomplished Ghanaian artist, Sami Bentil, will go on show at the PeakArt Gallery at Awudome Estate, adjacent to Charterhouse in Accra, from December 13, 2025 to December 30, 2025.
Considered in discerning art circles as a dynamic channel for intense Pan-Africanist expressions in contemporary art, Sami Bentil has had his works shown across Africa, Europe, North and South America and Asia.
Speaking of the motivation behind what he does, Bentil says: “In my paintings, I celebrate the inherent majestic splendour, the spiritual, as well as the educational function of traditional Ghanaian symbolism and imagery in the preservation of Africa’s cultural uniqueness and identity.”

Bentil studied Graphic Design at the University of Science and Technology in Ghana and trained under legendary artist, Kofi Antubam, at Achimota School.
The upcoming solo exhibition will showcase paintings that span decades of creating thought-provoking art that speak candidly to Ghana and Africa’s cultural heritage and also universal human experiences.
He acknowledges that his knowledge of ancient Akan cultural traditions, combined with his mastery of the painting technique of pointillism, help to visually draw in and induce viewers to have pleasant uplifting feelings very much like listening to their favourite songs.

According to Kojo Danku, PeakArt Gallery Manager, Bentil’s solo exhibition that opens at 4.00pm on December 13 represents a rare opportunity to experience the depth and breadth of his artistic vision.
“The exhibition traces the evolution of an artist who has remained steadfastly committed to celebrating African culture while promoting universal human connection,” the PeakArt Gallery Manager stated.
