The Supreme Court has declared Twedie as the district capital of Atwima Kwanwoma in the Ashanti Region.
In 2008, some chiefs from Twedie filed a writ at the Supreme Court challenging the decision by Parliament to make Foase the district capital.
The court ruled in favour of Twedie, describing the Parliamentary decision as null and void.
Lawyer for the plaintiffs, Nii Ayikoi Otoo has welcomed the ruling.
He said Parliament’s action contravened sections of the 1992 Constitution and therefore was null and void as declared by the Supreme Court.
