The Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) has stated that the second term arrears owed caterers for the 2020/21 academic year will be paid in the shortest possible time.
In a press statement signed by the Head of Public Relations Siiba Alfa, the Programme revealed that the Finance Ministry has released the warrant to the Controller and Accountant General to mobilise funds to settle the debt.
According to GSFP, it is "awaiting the transfer of funds by the Controller and Accountant General to the Ministry of Gender’s account with the Bank of Ghana for onward disbursement to caterers."
However, said the payment file and all relevant data to resolve the arrears have been completed.
Meanwhile, the Ghana School Feeding Programme said it will settle all other arrears owed to its caterers.
Also, the Programme has expressed its gratitude to its caterers across the country for exercising patience over the delay in the payment of their second term arrears.
"Thanks for your patience once again," the statement concluded.
