Societe Generale Ghana has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery in the country. The bank has donated some equipment to the National Cardiothoracic Centre of the hospital. The donation included critical cardiothoracic equipment.
The presentation, made jointly by the bank’s staff and management, was in direct response to a request from the Centre. Items presented included one cardiac defibrillator, one Electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) machine, and four patient cardiac monitors. These are vital tools for the treatment of cardiovascular patients.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the Deputy Managing Director of Societe Generale Ghana, Kwame Abbey, said the gesture formed part of the bank’s ongoing efforts to promote good health and well-being.
According to him, "as a bank, apart from the profits that we make, the people and the communities that we work with are very important to us. We cannot just work and then make the profits and not help the communities in which we live. So this is one of the special initiatives that we do, in supporting the healthcare."

He added that, the initiative is in alignment with the sustainable development goal 3.
"It is also part of meeting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Goal number three, good healthcare, is one that today we have responded to," he stated.
The Director of the National Cardiothoracic Centre, Dr. Kow Entsua-Mensah, expressed profound gratitude to the bank, noting that the donation would significantly enhance the Centre’s capacity to provide timely and effective care to patients.

"This donation means a lot to the National Cardiothoracic Centre. Whatever form that the condition comes in, these equipment are necessary in the process of diagnosis, in the process of treatment, and then monitoring the aftercare. This donation will go a long way to augment what we already have, and will significantly increase our capacity to be able to deliver heart care to all our patients," he added.

The initiative aligns with Societe Generale Ghana’s broader Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy, which prioritizes impactful investments in healthcare to improve the lives of Ghanaians.
