Some 23 suspected criminals including a spiritualist, popularly called Mallam, have been arrested by the Police in the Ashanti Region, in connection with different crimes committed in separate areas in the region.
The police at Manponteng also retrieved 11 vehicles suspected to have been stolen around the Nawkaw area in the Brong Ahafo Region.
Luv FM’s Erastus Asare Donkor reports the suspects as well as the vehicles were paraded at the Regional Command for identification at a news conference, Wednesday, December 17, 2014.
The suspects include 18-year-old Isaac Takyi, Isaac Kakari, Lawrence Bekoe and Fuseini Suleimana.
Meanwhile, the Regional Commander, DCOP Kofi Boakye has assured residents of adequate security during the yuletide festivities.
He, however urged traders and market women to move in groups to avoid being attacked by robbers and also contact the police for security when needed.
The Command has also placed armed police personnel on buses traveling long distances as part of measures to bring down the incidence of crime during the festivities.
