The Managing Director of Standard Chartered Bank, Hemen Shah has quit the bank along with two other key executives.
The resignations are said to have resulted in further major movements in middle management positions.
Mr. Shah assumed office in Ghana in November 2008 and is credited with the successful implementation of an impressive growth strategy that has seen a significant increase in the bank’s profit.
Head of Origination and Client Coverage for corporate banking business, in Ghana and across Central and West Africa, J. Kweku Bedu-Addo has since been appointed the new Chief Executive for Ghana.
The Executive Director, Consumer Banking Francis Mills-Robertson and the Head of Human Resource Lucy Kimani are the two other key executives said to have left the bank.
Area Head for Corporate Affairs, West Africa Nii Okai Nunoo would only confirm two of the resignations. He however tells Joy Business Lucy Kimani is still at post.
Meanwhile the new CEO, J. Kweku Bedu-Addo is the first Ghanaian to be appointed to the position in the 114-year history of Standard Chartered Bank in Ghana.
Mr. Shah is said to be taking up another job in the UK whilst the Consumer Banking boss Francis Mills-Robertson is said to be heading for a CEO position in another bank in Uganda.
