Star Microinsurance Services Limited launches Loan Protection Scheme with GAMC
Star Microinsurance Services Limited, a subsidiary of Star Life and Star Assurance company Limited, has launched a new loan protection scheme.
It aims at providing insurance financial solutions to all members the Ghana Association of Microfinance companies (GAMC).
The Managing Director of Star Life, Mr. George Addison, who disclosed this was confident the scheme will provide its members with the needed solutions to reduce risk and laibilities. He announced this while making a presentation to GAMC members at the 2nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at the GNAT Hall in Accra on Friday.
"Towards this end, a 5-zonal sensitization program has been embarked upon by the Star Microinsurance Services Limited in the Northern, Western, Greater Accra, Ashanti and the Brong Ahafo regions to train members of the loan protection scheme, its enrolment, procedures and benefits.
The company is one of the only Ghanaian partners among the four African partners in the ILO fellowship program and the mentoring program sponsored by GIZ, provided by the Microinsurance Centre, USA, and has been a part for the past two and a half years.
This year, the Star Microinsurance services through its micro finance partners, provided huge sums of money to the victims of the fire that gutted the Kantamanto and Agbobloshie markets.
