Officials of the National Youth Employment Programme say they are frustrated at the extent of political interference in the programme.
The Deputy National Coordinator of the Programme, Sadiq Bugri told Joy News that the politicization particularly at the district level is affecting the programme.
The NYEP has recently come under public scrutiny after some officials were accused of corrupt practices. Late last year the Volta Regional Coordinator was sacked after he extorted monies from prospective applicants.
Currently three officials of the programme in the Birim South District are being investigated for an alleged ¢100 million fraud.
Many people employed under the program have also complained of non-payment of their wages.
But Mr. Bugri insisted that politicians are to blame for the many problems plaguing the program.
