The woman whose baby got missing at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) under strange circumstances, has a new child, three years after the incident.

Suweiba Abdul-Mumin, 39, gave birth to a baby girl on Saturday morning.

In 2014, the Legal Advocacy Foundation called on Mrs Abdul-Mumin and family to reject an investigative report into the whereabout of the missing baby by the Health Ministry.

The mother of one of five babies which went missing at the KATH was incensed about the failure of the investigative report sanctioned by the health ministry to state the circumstances under which the babies got missing.

This was after the final report by the Nursing & Midwifery Council, Medical & Dental Council and the Hospital said the babies in question were stillborns but failed to give details on their whereabouts.

Human rights lawyer and President of the Legal Advocacy Foundation, Maurice Ampaw, told Joy News then that he was ready to take the matter up in court.

"Those who conducted the investigation did not do a good job. I describe it as a bogus report," he said adding, "it did not address the core issue of holding those who caused the missing of baby responsible."

"The recommendations were woefully done. The family should reject the report and proceed to court and seek for proper compensation because the report has failed to address the fundamental issue of where is the child?" he added.

Three years on Mrs Abdul-Mumin has given birth, to the joy of those who sympathised with her, Joy News Ashanti correspondent Mahmud Mohammed-Nurudeen who visited her at the Aboabo residence reports. 

He said at the time of his visit the family has gathered to share her bundle of joy. 

A family member said their prayers during her pregnancy was for her to have a safe delivery devoid of any controversies. 

"I was concerned about her health considering what happened to her at KATH and I prayed against a recurrence as she has been through a very painful experience," one family member said.
