The annual Takoradi Open Golf Championship tees off at the Takoradi Sports Club Golf Course at Takoradi in the Western Region on Saturday, November 24 and ends on Sunday, November 25.
Mr Jan Doets, Captain of the Takoradi Golf Club,
who announced this in Accra on Monday, said the two-day scratch event, which is opened to amateur golfers throughout the country, was being sponsored by Multiwall Paper Sacks (W/A) Limited.
He said the entry requirement for the competition, which shall be organised under the rules of the Ghana Golf Association, is handicap 8 for the main event and handicap 24 for the ladies category.
Mr. Doets named some of the golfers who had registered for the event as Lee Mensah, Vice Captain of the Tafo Golf Club, Kofi Dolphine, Richard White, Appau Oppong and J.K. Amuzu, all of the Achimota Golf Club.
Professor George Ntsiful, President of the Ghana Golf Association, would take the ceremonial tee-off.
