The Tema Police say they have arrested two suspected criminals who escaped from custody over the weekend.
The two were among some 14 suspects in the Tema Community 22 police station cell who broke jail after they overpowered an officer who opened the cell to give food to one of the inmates.
The escapees were being held on suspicion of crimes like robbery, narcotic drug possession and petty theft.
Tema police commander ACP Augustine Gyening said police are “seriously searching” for the 12 others who are currently at large.
He said his men are open to information from the public to be able to arrest the escapees.
