Residents of Kumasi filed out in their numbers from their homes Saturday to join the first of Luv FM’s quarterly Fitness Walk for 2017.
Individuals and groups trooped to the Kumasi Stadium for the start of the exercise which sought to promote physical fitness.
Participants walked through selected streets, as many more people joined along the route for over two hours before hitting the finishing line back at the stadium.
Seventy-four-year-old Opanin Kofi Buor who was the oldest participant received a four-burner gas cooker as his prize.
“At my age, I need to keep up regular exercise to stay healthy,” Opanin Buor later told Luv News in an interview.
Patrons are excited they such opportunity to keep the shape in the midst of demanding work schedules which make it difficult to exercise regularly.
One of the elated patrons is Agnes Osei.
“I wanted to experience something different from my normal schedules: going to work, eating and sleeping. I wish Luv FM would organise such life-saving events regularly,” she pointed out.
Events and Promotions Executive at Multimedia Group, Kumasi Louis Lamis is overwhelmed by the high turnout which he says underscores the strong bond between Luv FM and its listeners and the larger community.
