Three persons are to vie for a sole slot for a place on the Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association, (GFA) which has been reserved for Women Football.
The trio, Leanier Addy, Habiba Atta and Sylvester Mensah will battle each other in search of the single slot, which remains a novelty by the Association on Wednesday, July 13 at the Conference Room of the GFA.
According to Emmanuel Gyimah, Acting General Secretary of the GFA, the Association decided to pitch the trio’s strength against each other after the Regional Football Associations elected Mr Mensah and Madam Attah to compete for the slot.
According to a statement released by the acting General Secretary, the duo, have filed their nominations to contest for the position following a proposal by two members of the Association from the constituent bodies.
Both Mr Mensah and Madam Atta won five regions each in the Regional Football Association’s elections for the sole representative slot.
The tie, accordingly compelled the GFA to organise another elections to select one for the position, hence the introduction of Ms Addy into the race.
The winner in Wednesday’s election will represent the interest of women Football on the Executive Committee.
Mr Gyimah, therefore, requested all delegates to take note of the arrangement and act accordingly to complete the exercise in due course.
