Multi TV’s matches of the week in four top and exciting European leagues unfolded with some breathtaking results.
Beginning with the French Ligue 1, on Saturday, Asamoah Gyan’s Stade Rennes were held to a pulsating 1-1 drawn game at home to French giants Marseille.
Gyan’s assist resulted in a penalty, after a Leroy chip went off the hand of a Marseille defender.
Leroy converted the kick to put Rennes ahead.
Marseilles lifted up their game in the second half and got the match needed equaliser through Mamadou Niang in the 51st minute.
Totally unmarked, Niang latched unto a concise free-kick and planted the ball past Rennes’ goal keeper.
The homeside pounded the goal area of Marseille with Asamoah Gyan posing a great threat to the Marseille defence but his 79th effort at goal whisked just wide.
Gyan made a sweet turn on receiving a pass from the right, shoved his marker but went for power instead of placement, and on his weaker foot, the ball went pass the right hand side of the post.
He was substituted minutes after that effort much to the surprise of Rennes fans who gave a standing ovation in appreciation for his efforts.
Tried as Rennes did in the closing embers of the game, the much ended in a stalemate.
German giants Bayern Munich were handed an absolute shocker following a 1-2 loss to newly promoted FSV Mainz 05 in yet another MULTI TV match of the week shown on Saturday.
On Sunday, Kwadwo Asamoah’s Udinese shared the spoils with Parma in the opening day of the Italian Serie A in a pulsating 2-2 drawn game.
Next week MULTI TV brings to its cherished viewers four scintillating matches from four top European leagues with the Spanish La Liga billed to start next week.
