Two more Ivorian refugees in Ghana have been found dead under mysterious circumstances. One was strangled to death and the other slaughtered, Manager of the Ampain camp, Kelly Forson has confirmed to Joy News’ Elvis Adjetey. The murders took place at the Ampain refugee camp and at the Elubo border in the Western Region. This brings to three the number of refugees found dead under gory circumstances. The first was found dead in the camp early this week. He was strangled. No suspect has been arrested so far and no reason cited for the murders. Police say they have begun investigations into the matter with strict security regime imposed at the refugee camp. Security has been beefed up in and around the camp with the administrators strictly enforcing a rule which says that inmates at the camp must not be seen loitering after 8:00. Forson said if any of the in-mates is seen flouting the rule he or she will be escorted out of the camp. He said the police are also on high patrols to ensure safety in the area. He said they are planning to close a number of outlets into camp. Jacob Ahoa spokesperson of the refugees described the murders as terrifying. He said most of the refugees are abandoning the camp. “Many are leaving. I cannot say where they are going,” he noted. He said those remaining are complying with new security arrangement in the camp.
