A number of people got injured when two Muslim sects in Tamale clashed at a radio station Sunday evening.
The Tijaniya and the Al-Sunnah sects engaged in the violent confrontation at the Northern Star Radio, over the varied interpretation of some verses in the Qur'an.
Property including motorbikes were also reported to have been destroyed.
General Manager of the radio station, Adam Cockra explained, the conflict ensued when the Al-Sunna sect went to the station to purchase airtime to explain their own interpretation of aspects of the Qur'an, that the Tijaniya group had earlier on interpreted differently on the same station.
Meanwhile, members of the rival sect are also said to have attacked Zaa FM, another radio station in Tamale.
