Ghana forward Jordan Ayew has asked Ghanaians to be patient with the Black Stars following their humiliating performance against the United States of America on Wednesday.
The Black Stars were easily brushed aside in the game which was played in the early hours of Wednesday, October 18, at the Geodis Park in Nashville.
A Giovanni Reyna first-half brace and goals from Christian Pulisic and Folarin Balogun saw the four-time African champions lose 0-4 and suffer their biggest defeat against the USA.
Speaking at the post-match conference after the game, Ayew assured the team will come good but still need time to be together.
"First of all, I feel like we need a bit of time because it is a new group with a lot of new players and most of the players are inexperienced so it is not easy but we are working on it because we know we don't have time and these type of game is a reality check," he said.
"We know our level but we have to keep working hard to get this equation together and learn how to play together but it will come with time but we also know that football does not need time so we are pushing hard and trying our best to better our performance as a team and with time, it will come."
With two defeats in the October international break, the Black Stars will be hoping to rewrite the wrong when they return in November for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
