A truck conveying electoral materials from Accra to Kumasi was involved in an accident at Akyem-Asafo, near Bunso in the Eastern Region, Friday.
The Mitsubishi L200 pick-up was carting 15 boxes of posters and 20 boxes of laptop batteries to Kumasi when the accident occurred about 12.30 p.m.
The materials were reported to have been scattered all over the place when the pick-up ran into a ditch.
According to the Eastern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mr Yaw Nketsiah-Yeboah, the vehicle, with registration number GE 4320-11, attempted to overtake an articulated truck which was carrying cement blocks.
However, the driver of the articulated truck reportedly veered into the lane of the pick-up, a development which compelled the pick-up driver, Mr Yaw Adu Twum, to drive the vehicle into the bush to avoid collision.
In the process, the election materials flew out of the vehicle.
Two other occupants of the Mitsubishi pick-up, belonging to Accra-based Super Lux Technologies Limited, gave their names to the police as Jonathan Sackey and Emmanuel Yaw Nomashi.
All the occupants of the pick-up and the articulated truck escaped unhurt.
