Shops along the Tip Toe lane at Circle in Accra are up in flames, three days after a similar fire incident claimed dozens of lives at the same venue.
It is not clear what triggered the fire but Myjoyonline's Nathan Gadugah saw an electric cable spark in the same area few minutes before the fire started.
"On my way home from work around 9:45 pm, I saw a brief electrical spark on one of the shops and decided to alert the fire service but was unsuccessful. I then walked few meters away to board a vehicle. Shortly after i sat in the vehicle i saw the flames high up in the sky with the smoke billowing into the skies as well. I quickly got down and went to the scene of the fire. Admittedly the fire was raging at a location about ten meters away from where i saw the spark," he narrated.

A 'warehouse' where traders kept their goods was worst affected. Some traders had to break into their shops which were just in front of the warehouse to salvage a few items mostly phones.
There was a blast from a gas cylinder which sent people running helter skelter for their dear lives. And with the fire reaching the electric cables high up there were fears the fire could degenerate.
Personnel from the fire service arrived with at least five of their tenders to douse the flames raging at a fast pace.
The personnel initially had challenges getting access to the fire given how narrow the place is. It took several minutes for the flames to be brought under control.
A fire Officer, Mr Odamtten told Myjoyonline.com they will quickly begin an investigation to ascertain the real cause of the fire.
He would not rule out the electrical fault but said a comprehensive investigation would have to be done to ascertain the true cause of the fire.
He said there were no confirmed casualties at the time but added they would have to clear the debris to know the extent of damage.

The fire happened just meters away from the Goil filling station which went up in flames on Wednesday in the midst of a thunderstorm.
Over 100 people lost their lives in that disaster.
