The Voltarian Co-ordinating Council (VCC) in the Ashanti and Brong-Ahafo regions on Monday congratulated Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, on his 59th birthday which falls on Wednesday.
A statement signed by Togbui Mawufeame Fugah, president of the VCC and issued in Kumasi on Monday, wished the Asantehene long life and God’s wisdom to enable his reign bring unity among the citizenry, peace and development in the Asante Kingdom.
The statement said the 10 years of Otumfuo Osei Tutu on the Golden Stool had given credence to the chieftaincy institution by settling amicably protracted disputes that bedevilled some stools in the Ashanti Region.
It lauded the recent launch of Otumfuo Charity Foundation by Otumfuo which seeks to support the needy and the poor.
The VCC assured Asantehene of their co-operation with Manhyia Palace at all times.
The statement also wished Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem, Asantehemaa, well on the occasion of the Mothers’ Day that falls on Sunday by giving Asanteman a good leader in the person of Otumfuo Osei Tutu.
It cautioned Voltarians residing in the Ashanti Region to remain law-abiding and always contribute their quota to the development of communities they reside in.Source: GNA
