The Wa Municipal Chief Executive Alhaji Yakubu Duogu has expressed optimism about the chances of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), remarking the NDC will be retained in power because of the numerous developments that have taken place since the party assumed power in 2009.
Mr. Duogu said the lives of most Ghanaians have been transformed for the better in view of the social interventions implemented by the government.
He made the observation when he presented plastic chairs and two motorbikes valued at 12,000.00 cedis to the Wa Central Constituency office of the NDC at Wa.
The presentation, he noted is meant to facilitate and enhance the campaign of the party and to ensure victory for President John Mahama and Rashid Pelpuo the Wa Central parliamentary candidate.
Enumerating some of the projects undertaken by the Municipality, the MCE said government has invested massively in the areas of education, water and sanitation, health and roads.
On education he indicated that almost every community in the municipality has benefited in one way or the other from educational infrastructure. He cited the construction of new campuses of T.I Ahamadiyya Senior High School and the Islamic Senior High School.
Turning his attention to roads, Mr. Duogu said most of the tarred roads in Wa town have been resealed while others are being resurfaced. Supply of potable water to the Municipality Alhaji Duogu said has improved tremendously.
He said about 70 boreholes have been drilled while the Member of Parliament Alhaji Rashid Hassan Pelpuo also provide 15 more boreholes.
The Wa MCE added that five hundred stand pipes will be provided under the Water expansion currently going on in municipality. The Wa Central Constituency Chairman of the NDC Alhaji Seidu Jamatutu who received the donation expressed gratitude to the MCE for the gesture. Alhaji Jamatutu said the logistics will help the party in the constituency to seal victory for the NDC in December elections.
