The Ministry of Finance has reiterated its commitment to return inflation to a single digit.
Speaking at the launch of Safare, a new tissue brand, Deputy Minister of Finance, Dr. John Kumah indicated that, his outfit is working assiduously to create a conducive environment for businesses to recover as well as help new ones to thrive.
“No matter what financing you have access to if the credit environment is not good, there’s no way your business is going to do well. To address this, the target is to reduce inflation to a single digit as early as possible,” he said.

“We’re committed to support the private sector and we’re going to do everything possible and do what is necessary to enable private businesses grow well in our country. We want to encourage you (businesses) to do that by giving a firm assurance of finance. So government has announced the YouStart programme with funding of about ¢10 billion in the next three years which we hope to give to the private sector.”
Safari tissues are a wide range of tissue products made by a wholly Ghanaian-owned company, SeaBiege Limited. Managing Director, Eric Amofa highlighted the unique selling points of the product.
“We’re going to be the tissue masters in the tissue industry. There are three things we focus on; quality, brand and packaging of our products. Our product is unique because of its virgin nature. They do not compete with recycled products. We’re targeting two classes of people, the economy class and the elite,” he disclosed.
Media personality, Deloris Frimpong Manso is the brand ambassador of Safare tissues. She explained why she chose to work with the brand.
“This was a new challenge for me and when I checked the product, I thought it was of high quality so I don’t mind associating with it,” she said.
