The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has called on its supporters to withdraw from collation centers across the country and return home as the party’s leadership takes charge of the remaining electoral processes.
The directive comes amidst heightened tensions in the final stages of the electoral process, marked by several incidents of violence nationwide.
In a statement signed by the party's General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey expressed gratitude to its members, agents, and supporters for their vigilance and dedication throughout the elections, describing their commitment as "remarkable and inspiring."
The party assured its members that its leadership and team of experienced professionals are fully equipped to manage the collation and declaration processes diligently and transparently.
"At this juncture, we call on all of you - our members who have dutifully stationed yourselves at collation centers across the country to now leave these centers and return home. This is the time to trust the leadership and the technical staff of our great party to fully manage the rest of the process.
"Our party's leadership, together with our team of experienced professionals, is fully prepared and equipped to ensure that every aspect of the collation and declaration process is handled diligently and transparently. Rest assured, we are committed to upholding the will of the people and protecting every vote cast for the NDC," the statement read.
The NDC urged supporters to remain calm, confident, and united, assuring them that every vote cast for the party would be protected.
“Together, we will secure the victory that Ghana deserves,” the statement added.
