Thousands of mourners gathered on Saturday, March 28, to bid a final farewell to the two brothers, Frank Amoaning Donkor and Elijah Ofori Donkor, who lost their lives in a tragic microlight aircraft crash in Tema.
The solemn funeral rites, held at the State House, drew an overwhelming crowd of family, friends, sympathisers, church members, aviation enthusiasts, and members of the general public, all united in grief and remembrance of the two young men whose lives were cut short.

The ceremony also saw the attendance of some members from both the majority and minority caucuses in Parliament, as well as other prominent national figures, including the Speaker of Parliament, the Chief of Staff, and other ministers of state.

Adding to the emotional atmosphere, renowned gospel musicians Elder Mireku and Jack Alolomie took to the stage to minister throughout the service, leading mourners in worship.

The brothers died two weeks ago when the aircraft they were travelling in from Ho crashed near a school in Tema.

In an emotional prelude to the burial, their father, Elder Frank Kwabena Donkor, had recounted the final moments he shared with his sons, revealing he spoke to them just five minutes before the crash.

Clad largely in black and red, mourners filled the venue early in the morning while church leaders led prayers and hymns in honour of the deceased.

The ceremony was marked by scenes of deep sorrow, with many mourners visibly overcome with emotion as they filed past to pay their last respects.
