INTRODUCTION: The Church of Pentecost celebrates "PENSIONS WEEK" annually in the Month of October to commemorate, pray and give generously to support the aged retired Ministers and widows of departed Ministers.
It is in fulfillment of the Biblical injunction for children to HONOUR their fathers and mothers so that it may go well with them and enjoy length of years on earth (Eph.6:2).
As members and Officers of the Church obey this command to support our aged fathers and mothers annually, I hope God is also teaching us all to work hard, prepare and plan for our individual Pension and retirement at old age.
Sociologists have classified the life span of every person into three distinct segments for our consideration:
1.0 The Learning Years: 1-30 Years of age.
2.0 The Working Years: 30-60 Years " ".
3.0 The Retiring Years: 60 and above Years

In the first two segments of life, God expects us to learn His word to live righteous lives, learn at the secular education and professions or trades for our working life so that we can be fruitful and productive in spiritual and social lives.
At this stage God expects us to Earn All we can; Save All we can; and Give All we can (2Cor. 9:10-11). At this stage of earning, Saving and Giving, the believer becomes a SOWER of God's resources trusted to him including money. Spirit-filled, spirit-led sowers never lack because they satisfy all the divine conditions for prosperity and the blessings of God (EPH. 1:3; 2 Pet.1:3; 2 Cor. 9:11).
This is the sure way of working and preparing for a successful retirement or Pension (Psalm 92:12-15; 37:25-26; Prov. 3:1-2).
Theologians and Sociologists including Farmers agree that "SOWERS NEVER LACK": This affects Nations, Churches, and Individuals. Nations that give to poor nations never lack. Churches that give to support Missions, the needy and the aged never łack. So as Individuals and Institutions that constantly give to individual needs are SOWERS who never lack.
Finally Giving shall be the determinant virtue on the Last Day White Throne Judgement as recorded in Matthew 25:31-46.
We cannot be Sowers without learning from God's word and mature people in Christ. We must be hard working, and cultivate God's grace of giving. We must pray for the Grace of giving and Sowing in our Christian life and work.
