African minnows Comoros Islands will tackle Ghana in the second round of qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup next month after outlasting Lesotho in a double-header over the last six days.
Both sides drew 0-0 in the opening leg in Moroni before drawing 1-1 in Maseru. They will now face the near impossible mission of defeating four-time African champions Ghana in a two-legged tie for a right to play in the group stage.
Those games will be in November.
Elsewhere Liberia defeated Guinea-Bissau 4-2 on aggregate to set up a clash with Cote d'Ivoire, while Kenya got past Mauritius with a 5-2 aggregate score to book a date with Cape Verde.
Impressive Niger crushed Somalia 6-0 on aggregate to set up a clash with Cameroon, while Chad got the better of Sierra Leone to secure a date with Egypt after an away goal advantage from a 2:2 aggregate score draw.
Tanzania beat Malawi 2-1 on aggregate to set up a tie with Algeria, but Nigeria have to wait an extra day to find out their opponents between Swaziland and Djibouti after their second leg tie was postponed due to poor travel plans by the Djiboutians.
