Three million pharmacists around the globe are today marking the annual World Pharmacists Day.
It creates the platform for people and patients to have direct interaction while benefitting from the services of a pharmacist.
Themed: “Access to Pharmacists is Access to Health”, it would attempt to educate the public on the useful, varied and impactful role of the pharmacist in healthcare delivery around the world.
A news release signed by James Ohemeng Kyei, president of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana said the decision to annually celebrate the Day, was adopted at the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) Council meeting in Istanbul, Turkey in 2009.
The FIP constitutes the global federation of 127 member country associations of pharmacists including Ghana.
