Zenith Bank Ghana MD, Daniel Asiedu is bowing out after serving his term of office. Joy Business gathers he retires at the end of the month – after almost seven (7) years in office.
He is leaving office after over 10 years with Zenith Bank Ghana and more than sixteen years with the Zenith Bank Group. He is also Motivational Speaker and Reverend Minister of the Gospel and JOY BUSINESS is learning he is moving on to pursue other personal interests which may include full-time ministry.
Mr. Asiedu was the first Ghanaian employee of Zenith Bank Ghana when he joined as the Chief Operating Officer in 2005. He became Executive Director of the Bank in July 2009 and was elevated six months later, in January 2010, to the top position of Managing Director/CEO.
Under his astute leadership, Zenith Bank has risen to become a model financial services institution. The bank also won several awards during his tenure such as the Bank of the Year Ghana, 2015 by “The Banker Magazine”, the 6th most prestigious organization in the Ghana Club 100 Rankings for the year 2014 and the Best Banking Group in Ghana 2015 by World Finance.
Also is the Best Customer Service Bank and Best Corporate Bank Ghana, 2015 by the Global Banking & Finance Review; Most Cashless Bank at the14th Banking Ghana Awards, Best Bank in Trade Finance at the 14th Ghana Banking Awards.

Mr. Asiedu’s tenure saw the Bank’s asset base grow five times to GH₵3.1 billion in 2014; tripling of customer deposits to GH₵1.8 billion and a 950 percent growth in Profit Before Tax to GH₵200 million over the period. The number of business locations of the bank also increased from 19 in 2009 to 31 in 2015.
Mr. Asiedu also held the position of Treasurer of the Ghana Association of Bankers from 2010 to date. His motivational speeches have earned him accolades such as Outstanding Role Model Award (2008 and 2009) and Exceptional Leadership Award (2008), both at Zenith Bank (Ghana) Limited.
He is also an honoured member of the International WHO’S WHO Historical Society of Professionals.
Managing Director of the bank Daniel Asiedu has always attributed the bank’s successful operations to its first core value – Belief in God.
“The hand of God has made a difference” he told Joy FM’s Super Morning Show during Zenith Bank’s 10th Anniversary.
