In an effort to examine the development of inner-city (Zongo) communities, the Zongo Development Minister, Dr Mustapha Abdul-Hamid will embark on a two-day visit to select communities in the Greater Accra region.
The tour will begin Thursday in Madina, where he will meet with Baba Seidu, the chief, on the current status of new projects. Those projects include AstroTurf, an ultra-modern artificial park being built on top of La Town.
The ¢2 million project aims to revitalize the community that has been ravished with poverty for years.

"For me, it is not about how much profit your company is making, it's the number of lives you have impacted that matters…I expect more youths to be enthusiastic about this project and harness their football talents," said Dr Daniel Mckorley, the chief executive who is spearheading the project alongside Dr Abdul-Hamid.
On Friday, the Minister will meet with the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, at his home in Fadama, where he plans to build another AstroTurf.
Following the meeting, Dr Abdul-Hamid will visit rehabilitated schools and sanitation facilities under construction.
He will also visit other areas across the region and will end with a speech about his new vision for Zongo communities under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo.

Earlier this year, former Zongo Minister Abubakar Boniface Saddique told community residents that 2018 would be his top priority under the NPP administration.
“…in terms of social interventions, we plan on building football parks and greening them, these will, in turn, serve as a multipurpose facility which can be used to host funerals and other functions and will, in turn, solve the problem of unnecessary roadblocks,” he said at the time.
