Following an outstanding performance by over 10,000 athletes at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, several individuals distinguished themselves in the track and field events by breaking world records.
In total, 13 world records were shattered in Paris, with some records dating back as far as 1996.
Notably, Africa’s Joshua Cheptegei and Faith Kipyegon were among the record-breakers in their respective competitions.
Below is the full list of the 13 world records broken in the track and field events at the 2024 Games, as verified by the International Olympic Committee:
